How our ranking works

TopTikTok is not an official TikTok ranking. We don't have access to TikTok's full database or internal metrics. Instead, we discover videos through two channels and rank them using our own, transparent Trend Score.

Where the videos come from

• Community submissions – users suggest links.
• Editorial curation – our team browses TikTok through normal app use and suggests videos.

Every suggestion is reviewed manually and enriched with title, author and thumbnail via the official TikTok oEmbed API before publication. (tiktok.com/oembed)

Our Trend Score

The score combines:

• community votes on TopTikTok itself,
• recency (newer entries are favored),
• editorial judgment (occasional manual highlighting).

It is not based on TikTok's own view, like or share counts – we don't collect those automatically. The exact weighting is documented internally and may evolve.

What we don't do

• No scraping of tiktok.com
• No third-party "TikTok API" services of unclear origin
• No video hosting or downloading
